York Sunday 4th September

By UK Flat / AW (Northern)

YORK-:

It's probably prudent to leave the Sprints alone as the Draw bias can be massively affected by Going conditions and we simply won't know until the start what the Going is and therefore how the Draw impacts. On the flip side we will be far better prepared for Doncaster if the expected rain comes in this regard.

We'll have a small investment in the 4.05 and 4.40 races-;

4.05

An extended 2 miles and not many of these have proven stamina allied to any sort of soft ground form.

One who does is ARABESCATO who ran well at Goodwood over a trip of 2 and 1/2 miles. That is excellent form and although no stand out Soft form it seems comfortable on Good to Soft Going

Of the rest it will be interesting to see if a wind operation has helped Ghadbbaan and at the more speculative end of the market JUSTUS for Ian Williams has yet to find its feet or level in the UK but is dropped in class and does have some very soft ground form in France

TRACKER - Arabescato / £1 e/w Justus (Ghadbbaan is the main danger)

--------

4.40

A competitive Class 4 Handicap over an extended 10 furlongs.

The favourite Mr Big Stuff and the O'Meara pair of Eetee and Samual Spade are obvious chances and could dominate but there are a few more exposed of note

FIRST IMPRESSION has run well fresh and comes off a 3 month break, it's probably the standout soft ground performer in the field and the conundrum is do you take the early price and risk it not being as soft as it may be or wait and see the price crash if its a bog. I'll have shrapnel early at the best price you can get.

HIGHWAYGREY is still well handicapped on past form and won well recently and is another worth a small investment. Life On The Rocks drops in grade, gets a visor and has some soft form but I want to see more from that one. Mr Carpenter is well worth adding to your TRACKER I think. Course wins off 76 and 78 in 2020 but very lightly raced since, they are persevering through and  any sign of that sort of form and the ability to run a few races in decent gaps between should be noted

THE FLYING GINGER looks the most interesting, its got a Course and Distance win in soft off 79 and off a reduced mark may suddenly find the spark to return to the winners enclosure. At BIG odds It's well worth a £1 each way poke on CARLOS FELIX who drops in trip and is ideally suited to rain and softer Going, if the field isn't decimated it could run an enhanced place.

TRACKER - The Flying Ginger / shrapnel - First Impression / £1 each way Carlos Felix
