York 5.22

NORTHERN - York 5.22 - Handicap Class 4 - 6 furlongs - 21 run - Going Good
Visually middle to high was the place to be yesterday and although pace is always a factor I'll stick with that evidence as a key part of my analysis today.
At the top end of the market, Pockley was runner up in this last year beaten only by recent tip winner Mr Wagyu, it may need this reappearance run though. Both Dark Shot and Flying Pursuit are seriously well handicapped on past form but are both 9 years old now, and probably bst watched but it wouldn't be a surprise if either popped up at some point in a less deep race.
Our Little Pony went in to my notebook a few days ago but comes out very quickly in a deeper race and was considered but ultimately missed the shortlist. Lezardrieux is being well backed and its possible one of the Bookie funded journalists or twitter twerps who churn out long lists of longer priced horses for affiliate sites may have put it up, I can't find the form to justify the money going on it?
Snash IS intriguing, dropped in trip but an AW winner at this trip, it's also been nibbled at but whilst I can understand why with this one not quite for me today on this ground where it could be taken off its feet pace wise early on in the race. Muscika drops in grade and was disappointing for me at Epsom last week in the race Mr Waygu won for us, I reluctantly discard it today and hope it doesn't fire on this occasion. Runninwild and Gumdrop both have glimmers of a chance on recent Thirsk runs but that Course is often not entirely reliable for form analysis given the draw bias that is reemerging there on the Sprint track. I think Ventura Express is the one they all have to beat and Ghathanfar, who I tipped a couple of times also recently is a solid contender who seems to always find one too good, a bit like Orbaan again yesterday.
All things considered though I'm most confident about these 3 against the field.
GOLDEN APOLLO is eased in grade from Class 3 and I'm convinced 6 furlongs is his best trip, lets not forget it was runner up in the Class 2 Great St Wilfred at Ripon last August off a mark of 86. It runs off a mark of 72 here and whilst it overperformed in the GSW clearly, this mark really does make your eyes water today!. Its drawn in Stall 13 and really should have no excuses at all with luck in running.
INTERNATIONAL DREAM is also back to probably its best trip, it ran a solid race over 7 furlongs here in May off a mark of 82 is drawn in Stall 19 and gets a bit of respite off a reduced mark of 78 and should be doing its best work late on if it gets the breaks. RECALL THE SHOW is another who caught my eye, its a capable Sprinter off marks in the mid 70's it showed improved form in first time blinkers last time at Doncaster and if they work again is drawn well and worth an investment off a mark of 78.
TIP - Golden Apollo / Tracker - International Dream - shrapnel - Recall The Show
