York 4.25 Handicap - Class 4 - 1 mile - Good to Soft - 20 run
A sub-plot here is always the annual "best Trainer" award so always worth looking at the Yorkshire based entries for valuable prizes like this to add to the pot.
I narrowed my choice down to a short list of 5.
Give it Some Teddy is out of form but has dropped to a nice mark again back with Tim Easterby, stall 19 though just puts me off a little bit but I expect a much improved run.
CHALLET is drawn in 6, Michael Dods trained, another apparently out of form but has sparked in July and August before and interesting off a mark of 72. Just a niggle he's reaching in this Class rather than comfy in it but he'll be my reserve. Makeen looks solid each way and is another I think could run an enhanced place.
My pair against the field though are DUESENGERG from the Fahey yard, will benefit back up to a mile, takes a Class drop and seems to be running in to form and went in my notebook after Beverley for this race and no reason to believe it won't be bang in contention with luck in running. My other one is JUST HIISS from Tim Easterby's yard, drawn in stall 9, below last win mark, no concerns at trip, with Going or a reducing mark and could be one about to hit some recognisable form. One of those that jumps off the page at you.
