A competitive race and as with the race at Fakenham there is an obvious favourite who may be a good solid win saver bet if that plays to your personal strategy. That is FROG AND TOAD for the in-form O'Meara yard who has form figures of 2-1-2 and who looks ready to step up from 7 furlongs back to a mile and who will be very tough to beat.

 

Stall 14 just put me off another horse running in to form in Aoifes Joy at the price available and whilst Broctune Red can do OK on turf its best form is on the AW and I think a mark of 64 on the Turf is on the high side based on its last winning turf mark of 58. Magical Mile turned in an improved display last time and is a danger off a mark of 65 but not really great market value in my opinion at the early price.

 

Highland Reel for Roger Fell was last to be struck off the short list and I do fear it is on a very nice mark but has become something of a Beverley specialist at 10 furlongs. If you get a chance to watch the race and the leaders go off very fast and this horse is out-paced early, I'd suggest £2 in running if you can get a silly price as it will stay on and on down the straight, but if they run tactically I'd suspect it'll be outpaced at the business end.

 

I thin ROYAL PROSPECT is a sill each way price off a mark below 60, that's clearly it's ceiling and when it comes below it on turf it can win races. It will have needed its first 2 runs and the booking of Ben Curtis is a plus. I am quietly confident of a big run at big Odds. 

 

HOSTELRY for Ruth Carr just gets the nod over Stoney Lane (who will be reserve if we have a non runner from the picks) as the step up to a mile is logical on run style over 7 furlongs and it's one of many of hers that is potentially well handicapped and has had a chance now to be race fit. Stoney Lane could be the pace angle with Joe Fanning in the saddle so don't be surprised if it sets off and tries to make all.
