Uttoxeter 4.53

By UK Flat / AW (Northern)

NORTHERN - Uttoxeter 4.53 - Handicap Hurdle - Class 5 - 2 miles 4 furlongs - Soft (heavy rain expected so could be heavy by off time)

A tricky little race but not too many have the credentials at the trip in heavy ground if the expected rain arrives.

Mickyh for Adam West is the one to beat with a win off 74 and place off 78 it runs off a mark of 80 but is solid and not bombproof.

Getaway Cory is one tipped by one of my colleagues the last twice including in an Exeter race won by Puzzle Cache, it's OK on soft is on a declining mark so remains a danger but not quite good enough here in terms of my analysis. Just Toby has ability but can be a sketchy jumper, it does have proven stamina though over further and would be a danger at a price if sharpening up its jumping.. Ensel Du Perch has bits of Irish form to suggest heavy would be no problem but the yard seem slow in terms of getting the horse back to that level of form so far.

At big odds there is something niggling with me to suggest that the Coulthards could have been hiding something with MOONACURRA so if you want an added bit of change on that one feel free. It;s a hunch more than anything substantive.

I think FLINTARA is the one they all have to beat here and at the price has each way value. It has good Course form and recent runs in to 5th at Taunton and runner up here in big fields make it a strong and confident pick. SIR JACK WEST has some interesting irish form which ties in to a decent horse with Emma Lavella who has run well off a mark of 113, it gets the trip, it like heavy, it just needs to settle a little better to be seen to optimum effect but I felt a mark of 96 was just too good to ignore and one I will Track and follow whatever happens here. Finally a bit of shrapnel on OCEANS RED (who is marginally preferred to Moonacurra) based on a nice low handicap mark and an interesting choice of a good 7lbs Claimer and something of a hunch that this could be optimum trip and conditions.

TIP - Flintara / Tracker - Sir Jack West / shrapnel - Oceans Red
