Tuesday 25th May - Northern Accumulator

By UK Flat / AW (Northern)

There is a VERY competitive Card at Beverley today, also Flat Turf at Ripon and Hamilton, NH at Newton Abbot and Warwick (where we have a few short priced Trackers in small field races) and Jumping at Wexford.

Our Northern expert has looked VERY closely at the 4.15, 4.48 and 5.20 at Beverley and the 4.25 at Hamilton and the 8.30 at Ripon. All very competitive races and add to the mix some rain at Hamilton and  possibly Ripon later on.

His thoughts and comments are below on all of those races and the logical bet on such a day we feel is a small Unit Accumulator, explanations follow-:

Beverly 4.48 - This is uber competitive over 10 furlongs and many have excellent chances. Rocket Dancer and Motorayel finished 1-2 over an extended mile last time, I tipped the winner and quietly mentioned the runner up. Of the pair I really think MOTORAYEL can overturn the form of that race and may now be ideally suited to this trip. A wide draw may actually help as it can sit in behind off the bridle and not expend too much early energy and it will have a milers speed up the hill IF it can get a clear passage.

You can give chances to so many, Mr Zee, Bit Of a Quirke who is a Course specialist and below its most recent win mark, Point Louise who is also stepped up in trip and drawn low, Le Bayou is another with CD form who should improve for seasonal debut and on a mark now below 50 looks very appealing, and at huge odds is Susie Javea whose sole decent turf run was a place here off a mark of 64 and who runs off 51 today.

However I think JACKAMUNDO who has been very competitive off far higher marks and who still runs consistently may have finally found a mark and an opportunity to strike off and with a draw in stall 5 has tactical flexibility.

Beverley 5.20, This is a very lop-sided market with what seems to be a lot of deadwood. Of those at prices currently over 20.1 the real standout is MAC ALLEY . Out of form so far, but a winner off a mark of 52 and placed off 56 and 57, versatile trip wise and any showers will help. The early price jumps off the page at me.

Kylie Rules and Otto Oyt look very strong and Clotherhome, Highland Reel and BANKAWI look best of the rest. BANKAWI is a CD winner off a mark of 54, has placed off higher and has slipped to a mark of 52, so no real excuses here.

BANKAWI + MAC ALLEY

Beverley 4.15 Crown Princess and Bavaragages look particularly strong here and of the pair I narrowly favour CROWN PRINCESS.

At bigger prices I could give squeaks to Zihaam and Poets Dawn but the one I particularly like at an e/w price is TANGLED. Its drawn in Stall 1, has good Course form, below its last winning mark and should now be fully tuned up fitness wise  .

CROWN PRINCESS + TANGLED

Hamilton 4.25 - There is plenty of early rain forecast and I think the Good to Soft may well be genuinely soft Going by the time of this race.

SAULIRE STAR and Shine On Brendan dominate the market after clashing last time and I just fancy the Easterby horse at the likely odds.

At bigger odds the one who may be best suited to softer going is COULDN'T COULD SHE who has form over further in soft going and who may nick a place at nice odds.

Ripon 8.30 - Always a conundrum over the Draw here but so far the Stands (High draws) have done best. Some showers but I don't think enough to do much other than to ensure it's not rattling Good to Firm.

Plenty have chances and one of those that if the day's gone well could be a ball-breaker between a good day and a great day, or as a "get out" race tough to assess.

Gullane One would be a strong suggestion BUT I feel at the price the one least likely to appreciate rain. ROUND THE ISLAND with a drawn in 9 does have more scope to go either way or down the middle than Stronsay or TWICE ADAAY who I found very hard to split. Stronsay would be definite reserve if either of the others don't run.

ROUND THE ISLAND / TWICE ADAAY

I've given 1st preference 1st in case you want to play just the one horse but most Bookies will allow a Lucky 31 e/w perm with 2 named and I'd suggest an each way Unit of 5 or 10p each way maximum

Bev 4.15 4 Crown Princess @ 7/2  + 3 Tangled @ 9/1
Ham 4.25 8 Saulire Star @ 4/1  + 3 Couldn't Could She @ 10/1
Bev 4.48 1 Motorayel @ 8/1  + 8 Jackamundo @ 9/1
Bev 5.20 4 Bankawi @ 13/2  + 2 Mac Alley @ 22/1
Rip 8.30 7 Round The Island @ 9/1  + 4 Twice Adaay @ 14/1

I can't find any Bookie that enhances to 4th on the first 4 races and 5th on the last but Sky / Coral and Fred enhance on 4 of the 5 races in terms of enhanced value.
