NORTHERN - Redcar 4.03 Handicap - Class 4 - 6 furlongs - 15 run - Good to Soft
A race that may not be quite as deep as the 15 runner field suggests.
Wentworth Falls at a big price isn't the horse it was but may have found a level it can be competitive at and it has run recently with credit in better races than this. It may be better on firmer Going but worth a small £1 e/w investment.
Oso Rapido can be winning again soon too but still needs 4-5 lbs back off the handicapper to be really competitive I feel. Bond Power is a nice 3 year old off an easing mark and drawn in Stall 1 is one I fear but will take on with a couple who look primed to win to me.
It Just Takes Time has been on a terrific run with form figures of 1-1-2-1- off marks from 65 to 76 today but a combination of the 5lbs rise and more the drop to this trip just puts me off today.
AS IF BY CHANCE and RUNNINWILD look very solid but can't be split for win purposes so I suggest a small reverse Forecast.
The pair of most interest each way are, FOX HILL for Eric Alston, a yard that usually puts on a spurt at this time of year as the going starts to soften, it's fine at 6 furlongs and has solid form and will love the bit of cut in the ground. MILBANKE for the in-form Karl Burke is a very interesting 3 year old who has course and Distance winning form as a juvenile, has been lightly raced but who should come on considerably for a recent return. Whatever happens today this is a young horse to TRACK (add to Tracker) going forwards.
