Thirsk 7.40

By UK Flat / AW (Northern)

Thirsk 7.40 -: assessment - A field of 17 go to Post, Good ground and a bit of rain about which will boost the chances of last years winner ZIG ZAG; will retain some fitness from NH campaign, won this last year off a mark of 57 drawn in Stall 4 on Good to Soft and runs here from Stall 6 off a mark of 58. They know he has stamina to burn and likely to be staying on past struggling horses all the way up the long straight from a stall where won't have to use up too much early energy to get a position.

Motahassen has also won at this trip off marks of 54 and 58, has had an AW to tighten up, may just still need this but drawn in Stall 1 has to have an excellent chance off a marl of 57. The other one who really interests me is Airplane who can be dangerous if given a clear passage upfront and races can be taken from the front here, has won in Class 6 and has had a run - my niggle is that the mark of 64 is a little high for a horse whose ceiling seems to be 60 but those front running tactics could take it a long way in to the race. The Ruth Carr trained Point of Honour and Appleby's race fit AW specialist Epitaph are others who could take a hand at nice Odds.

Have 1 point each way on ZIG ZAG and I would not put anyone off a small (Tracker size e/w bet) on Airplane and Motahassen and a small Tricast Perm on those 3
