Thirsk 5.00
By UK Flat / AW (Northern)
Thirsk 5.00 1 mile 4 furlongs - Class 6 - Good to Firm - 16 run.
A couple of old timers in here who have decent Course and Distance and Distance winning form who could run big races and nice Odds off regressive marks are Trinity Star, 10 years old now but winning in Class 4 off 68 over Course and Distance in August 2019, so todays mark of 59 is very interesting, the lack of a run just puts me off a nibble. A year older is Archive, who ran up a treble in 2019 off marks in the high 60's, has had a run and mark of 52 looks appealing but just not sure what ability remains. Would not be a total surprise though if either of them popped up.
Another who caught the eye but best watched until it has proven health and fitness is Ghadbbaan trained by Brian Elllison but tailed off on seasonal debut on the AW and vet reported a fluctuating heart rate issue. It could be a nice prospect in these lower Grades and if the issues have been resolved would probably go very close.
David O'Meara pitches up with an ex Gosden horse (unraced for that yard) in Flammarian who won a National Hunt Flat race, could really be anything and he is another very dark horse who will surely show his hand at some point and the hood is enlisted today.
At the top end of the market LOW PROFILE looks rock solid and warrants a win bet (or each way saver as a punters choice) and is preferred to Tundra, PETITIONER looks solid each way value too fit from NH solid on the Flat in Class 5 normally and a decent 5lbs claimer enlisted and if you want a Tricast Perm / bit of bigger priced shrapnel then Jason Hart and John Quinn could ruffle the favourites with AL KHERB who is fit from NH has won at this trip on Flat when rated in mid 80's and looks thrown in off a mark of 65.
WIN TIP/ E/W punter call- Low Profile / Tracker Tips each way - Petitioner + Al Kherb
