At the top of the market I'm happy to take on Funky Town Pinkie who has form figures of 2-1-1 but who looks increasingly vulnerable off marks above 60 at this extended trip. True Romance has a Distance win at Wolverhampton off a mark of 55, looks solid enough off a mark of 58 but doesn't look great value at the price. Easy Equation has an equally solid chance on recent form but is another well found by the market and I can't frankly split those three for investment purposes (a crafty Tricast may be the fun bet).

 

Liberated Lad will be a big danger at a competitive price and is worth a try to the trip and probably more suited to the Course configuration here than somewhere like Newcastle with its longer straight.  Gustav Holst drops in trip and that may help but is one of those horses who seems to travel well and then fade whatever the trip but he's the one who just missed an investment at a nice price if you need a reserve!

 

Norman Kindu is below its last turf win mark and mildly interesting and both Peerless Percy who returns off a 281 day break and Muftakker who returns off a 597 day break but who was once a runner up off a 497 day break and who has clearly had issues, would both have chances on best form when fit enough, so can't be totally discounted but probably best watched and TRACKED if showing promise.

 

The pair I most like are BOBBA TEE and GERROTS.

 

BOBBA TEE ran an absolute belter for us at Newcastle last week coming home 3rd at 80/1, following another tip who was advised at 40/1 and returned 18/1 (Riggsby) home and although about 10% of that price here, holds very compelling claims. The step up in trip isn;'t a concern on this sharper track and the horse has form on Tapeta elsewhere and is somehow 4lbs lower than last weeks effort. GERROTS is down too to a very interesting handicap mark and quietly looks primed to me with the Yard amongst the winners and this intermediate trip may prove ideal.
