Sedgefield 1.30
By UK Flat / AW (Northern)
NORTHERN - Sedgefield 1.30 Handicap Hurdle - Class 4 - 2 miles 4 furlongs - 11 run - Good (probably G/S based on Going Stick)
Hopefully Sedgefield can stage a full Fixture list this season after some ground issues curtailed Fixtures there last season. A undulating Course with a steep downhill section off the final turn and then a deceptively steep climb from the final hurdles.
I think the one they all have to beat here is Rebecca Menzies IMPERIAL DATA with form figures of 2221 and following a wind operation a cosy win at Kelso last time off a mark of 102 and it will be disappointing if this one can't follow up off a mark of 104. A win bet IS recommended.
I think that Dream Jet is opposable at the price despite a win at Stratford last time. Alqamar is something of a Cartmel specialist to put it mildly and it's hard to quantify form away from that quirky track. Cabrakan just about gets this trip and is on a competitive mark but I have the feeling he may have to expend too much energy off a genuine pace and could be vulnerable late on.
One I'm adding to the TRACKER is Titanium Bullet, I think it will need the run here and possibly another one after this to be fully tuned up but it's a nice type who I think will win handicaps in a range of about 90-95 when fully fit.
The pair I rate highest other than IMPERIAL DATA are RAGAMUFFIN and the enigmatic KAJAKI
RAGAMUFFIN ticks all the right boxes for me. The Mulholland yard is in good form, the tongue tie and cheek pieces will help the horse, no Going, trip or handicap mark concerns and I'll be very disappointed if this one isn't in the first three home. KAJAKI is often hard to fathom, sums up the Trainer and the Yard to be perfectly frank, but "its due" and has won two of its last 3 races at Sedgefield off marks of 104 and 107 and runs off a competitive looking 101 here.
Tips (1w) Imperial Data / (2) Ragamuffin /(3s) Kajaki
