SEAN - Punchestown 1.45 - Mares Handicap Hurdle - 2 miles 5 furlongs - Soft
I think there is market value in a couple here from Gordon Elliott so will cut to the chase right away.
CUTE CHERRY won well at Clonmel before a poor effort at Limerick last time, if we give it the benefit of the doubt about that run it's very likely it could win this based on the earlier form and the market price looks over generous to me.
LUGG RIVER is a recruit from Tom Symonds in Britain and ran well enough on Irish debut at Tramore to be worth an interest here. Based on it's for in the mainland it has a nice handicap mark here.
I'm not overly impressed by those at shorter prices to be honest, Farraway Bay has won off 87 and 98 and could be considered unlucky last time but the handicapper may now have its measure, Must Be Obeyed has shown promise over shorter but has to prove stamina, Paddy Wickla has won at 2 and a half miles off 88, placed off marks of 93, 96 and 97 and is another who may be needs a few pounds off todays mark of 101 with a 5lbs claimer up, Breezy Bell is upped in trip and 9lbs penalty, Family Business has top weight and I think this trip really stretches it form wise.
At bigger odds, I wouldn't put you off a bit of shrapnel for fun on Elusive Touch who makes handicap debut after some decent 3 mile P2P runs and for whom JJ Slevin is an interesting booking, Kingston Retreat too could outrun big odds as could Frazel Express at silly odds, investment wise of those certainly ELUSIVE TOUCH would have the best chance I think.
