Salisbury 5.30 Class 6 - 1 mile 6 furlongs - 14 Run - Good to Firm - Flag Start
They start here in front of the Stands, run the wrong way down the straight and then veer left in to a chute, an uphill climb in the a sweeping bend and an adverse camber and right handed in to the straight which climbs all the way to the line.
The Going is Good to Firm and no amount of water you'd think will make it any different with a sunny and windy day.
At the top end of the market I thought SULOCHANA may need this run, Loch Ness Monster is a sit AW horse on a nice mark but i think the obvious one is Mick Channons SINGLE. A race fit Course and Distance winner off a mark of 65, runs off 64 here and holds every chance for a win only or each-way banker, depending on what floats your boat.
Of the rest, Grain of Sense comes from the in-depth Beckett yard with Crouch up, a combination that just pipped us at Epsom the other day, I just feel it may need this run. Hidden Depths has won twice over the trip at Bath on Firm but evidence suggests may just need this run and be primed to go back to Bath at some point.
Celtic Classic from the Cole yard has shown some promise and had a run already and could progress but I really like the look of ELHAFEL for John Mackie and David Probert at a nice each way price. Like SINGLE it's last turf win mark was 65 and runs off a mark here of 64. It has also had a run so should strip fitter and is fine on Good to Firm Going. On the formbook if you are backing SINGLE you'd have to back ELHAFEL too and the price discrepancy is something to exploit hopefully for some each way profit.
TIP - SINGLE - Tracker - Elhafel
