Redcar 5.10

By UK Flat / AW (Northern)

NORTHERN - Redcar 5.10 - 1 mile 6 furlongs - Class 6 - Good to Firm - 12 run

This is very competitive and plenty have chances if you dig deeply enough into the past form.

Glory And Honour has won twice this week already off 57 and 62 and now runs off a mark of 67, on that basis I'm happy to take it on, Overstate was an 8 length winner at Ripon over 12 furlongs and then placed at Bath, I feel the extra yardage and mark makes the price of less value to us and another I'm happy to take on.

Prophesise is an 8 race Maiden who has finished runner up last twice and has solid claims but at bigger prices I fancy a couple more for some decent e/w money, Desert Quest has proven stamina up the hill at Hamilton and has won at Ayr too but I just think a mark of 58 is a few pounds too much. Red Derek does look well handicapped off a mark of 58 having won over Course and Distance last year off a mark of 60 but my main niggle is that he may need a little bit more cut in the ground, when that comes he is definitely one to add to your TRACKERS...another one who might find this Going a bit too jarring is Taxmeifyoucan who ran prominently on a return to the Flat last time.

At the big priced end of the current market are 3 horses who definitely aren't "no hopers2, Penelopeblueyes was 3rd and 5th last pair of runs which were fair Turf efforts and may still have some scope as a 3 year old. Cornell could benefit from a drop down from 2 miles as could JACK YEATES who is no forlorn hope and of the threesome I'll throw some e/w shrapnel at Jack Yeats, if you wanted a quid each way at 25/1 plus a small bet on Penelopeblueyes will give you some fun for sure.

The pair against the field though looking for each way net profit and hopefully a winner are BOUNCING BOBBY and NATALEENA

BOUNCING BOBBY steps up in trip but I've no stamina concerns, I can see it using a little bit of tactical speed it has to make a bid from the 2 furlong pole and he might just get away from those who are stepping back in trip and lack the same acceleration. NATALEENA is a Course and Distance winner so we know its gets every yard and has won off marks in the mid 60's in its prime but still very capable at this level, needs a couple of runs to get fully tuned up these days and really does look too well handicapped to ignore off a mark of 53 and a nice booking for the jockey.

TRACKERS - Bouncing Bobby + Nataleena (both 1/2 point e/w) / Jack Yeates (shrapnel e/w bet)
