A drying day but probably won't dry to any firmer than Good and a fair few of these would have preferred a few more days of sun.

 

Tele Red arrives on a hat trick but with a 6lbs penalty, Global Spirit has Course and Distance winning form off a mark 0f 76 last year and has dropped to a mark of 68 so has to be viewed as a real danger, but I'm not currently convinced enough to invest in that one. Captain Corelli is one I will add to the TRACKER, its had a breathing operation but it usually hits form;  late August in to September, so one to keep an eye on and it may just need the run

 

At speculative Odds I think there is great merit in both VENTURA RASCAL a Course and Distance winner whose last couple of wins have been off a mark of 75, its come back within range and looks like one of those who is perfectly capable when the handicapper relents and it gets luck in running. SUCCELUS has regressed but its last 2 wins have been off marks of 76 and 77 and it finds itself back at that level, conditions will suit. Stall 12 would be an asset on soft ground as they are likely to come wide up the Stands rail. On good or good to Firm it may not be an asset if they hog the far rail. I'm happy to take that chance off this mark today.
