NORTHERN - Newcastle 1.23 Handicap Chase - Class 3 - 2 miles and 4 furlongs - Soft

 

A competitive little race and plenty in with chances.

 

Castle Rushen has long been touted as a nice horse by Nicky Richards but didn't show enough on a return off a 600 day break to yet make me want to invest in it, O'Toole is being backed no doubt on Irish bumper and Hurdle form but makes a Chase debut here and it may be a bit deeper in terms of quality than they imagine!

 

Hidden Commander is progressing well but up another 4lbs and The King of May is solid if returning to form but best form has been on better Going . Dubai Days is in the TRacker but may need this and better Going. 

 

The pair I most like have both been recent winners , SLANELOUGH is up to a career high mark of 129 but plenty to like about a Course win off 126 and a Course and Distance win off 126, I still think there is the scope there to go in again and SIRWILLIAMWALLACE who has valid excuses for pulling Up last time was a nice winner off a mark of 119 prior to that and is another who I feel has the scope to go in again if avoiding the tackle issues it had last time, off a mark of 122.
