Musselburgh 2.15
By UK Flat / AW (Northern)
NORTHERN - Musselburgh 2.15 - Edinburgh National - Handicap Chase - Class 2 - 3 miles 7 and 1/2 furlongs - 12 Run - Good to Soft
The Going is Good to Soft and this would be one of the easiest Courses in terms of Stamina in the UK.
I don't think that the race is particularly deep and have focused my attention on 4 of the 12 runners after a long analysis of all of the runners.
A few would have good chances on known 3 mile form IF staying and they include Brandy McQueen; Temptationinmilan, Universal Folly and Inis Orr. It would be no surprise to see the latter pair run big races and they were not lightly dismissed.
I am most confident about 3 horses here towards the top of the market but would suggest a fun £1 e/w on VIA DOLOROSA who is a big price but the type who likes to bowl along in front and if it gets into a rhythm could still charge turning in final time, it's a track where you can slip a field and I would not totally rule out this one leading them for a very long way.
PEACHES AND CREAM looks a very solid win bet, it really ticks all the boxes and looks like a classic Irish Plot Job raid, I think it'll take a good horse to beat it. MAGNA SAM caused a mild surprise when winning this race last year and returns off 6lbs worse terms but still has scope and undoubtedly the Yard will have seen this race as a target for the past 364 days. If there is one lurking at a nice price off a low weight who will appreciate the conditions and is an out and out stayer it is NO CRUISE YET, it placed last year in The Eider (and that may well be the plot race again for this one) and the Durham National and if the race fell into a heap off too fast a pace, this one is the type to take advantage.
Tips (1w) Peaches And Cream / (2) Magna Sam / (3s) No Cruise Yet
