Lingfield 2.25
By UK Flat / AW (Northern)
AW / North - Lingfield 2.25 Handicap - Class 6 - 1 mile 4 furlongs - 14 run
A very low quality race but probably the best chance of an upset result and some value on the whole Card as a result.
At the top end of the market is Capricorn Prince for Gary Moore who will be looking to plunder some prize money for local connections, its won over Course and Distance off a mark of 50 and over a furlong further off a mark of 55, it steps back from 2 miles and will need every yard of this you'd think, so I think the better value at the top end of the market is PABLO PRINCE who is more of a 12 furlong specialist and his last 2 wins have been over Course and Distance off marks of 58 and 61, he's race fit and primed and a mark of 62 should not be holding him back one iota.
The real dark horse is Vision Of Hope from the prolific George Boughey yard, this one makes handicap debut after 3 qualifying runs over distances way too short for a horse with a pedigree to be best at 10-12 furlongs and it's hard to quantify exactly how good the mark is but I'd suspect it may be backed off the boards and actually add value to the price of PABLO PRINCE.
Ummsuquaim won out of the blue when stepping up to this trip for his Trainer who'd been on the cold list for ages last time, whether a 3 lbs penalty will stop it today or whether it was a complete fluke, I'm happy to find out and take it on here. Pledge Of Peace has shown a few glimmers of form over Course and Distance to be given a sporting chance and at big odds Central City for Gay Kelleway is one of those who can pop up with an occasional good placed effort at big odds when everything falls in to place and can't be totally discounted.
On the balance of all of the form analysis though my pair to back up PABLO PRINCE are SHIP TO SHORE and SAVOY BROWN.
SAVOY BROWN is a Course and Distance winner off a mark of 50 in March and runner up off a mark of 51 in May. He will surely come on markedly for a recent return and although he may still just need this is one to follow closely and off a mark of 47 here is one I really fancy to run home in the first 4 at least. SHIP TO SHORE has shown signs of promise and is still relatively unexposed, a mark of 60 looks workable and it's another I would be disappointed in if not in the first 4-5 home.
TIP - Pablo Prince / Trackers - Savoy Brown + Ship To Shore
