Kempton Park 6.45

By UK Flat / AW (Northern)

Kempton 6.45 - Handicap - Class 5 - 1 mile - 14 run - Standard > Slow

A competitive race and a couple at the top of the market will be big dangers but just passed over at the prices and with a few niggling concerns.

BEARWITH was a  runner up here last time from a wide draw, I don't think a wide berth here when the TRack is riding on the slow side is the disadvantage it used to be or some think it is. That race was a Class 6 and upped another pound to a mark of 69. I think the horse is far from unbeatable from Stall 9.

TAMASKA from the O'Meara yard steps up to a mile, and they grab some blinkers, it's OK on Tapeta but not yet proven on this surface and for that reason and the niggle about stamina, it's another I can leave at the price. Going in the opposite direction trip wise is the Charles Hills trained Mummys Boy, it is also a logical move for this prominent running type and it can run a big race but Stall 12 may mean it has to really ping the stalls and possibly use up some tactical early speed to get a prominent pitch.

County Wicklow has moved to Marco Botti, gelded after finishing last of 8 and last of 11 on 2 runs in the UK so far. It's being nibbled at in the market, probably due to connections and having had the nip, but I'd rather see a bit more actual form evidence on the track. Duty Beyond comes over from France with some hard to fathom form and is another who I think has to show some tangible form in race conditions before being the subject of any financial investment.

Always Fearless is of interest mainly as it's from the Hannon yard and off a break. It's best runs have been on the AW so probably been given a final shot on this type of surface before going to the Sales at some point. It won off 77 on this type of surface at Chelmsford, regularly placed in mid 70's so IF fit enough can do some damage off a mark of 70 with a young apprentice taking 7lbs off. Semser for Gary Moore who can always be relied on to throw the odd rabbit out of a hat, was 12th of 12 here last time out, so other than it may be a rabbit, can't see it popping up here.  Pink Jazz comes back to AW from some Hurdle runs, will be nice and fit and definitely no stamina issues, its won here off a mark of 68 and on Tapeta off 58 and 63, nothing wrong with the mark of 70 tonight, another who gets a less experienced jockey and may just need this run to transition from Hurdles to AW again but definitely an interesting one to follow on next few AW runs off a declining mark when below that 68 level.

My pair against the field are JUST AMBER who gets the assistance of Adam Kirby. Place here off 62 over 7 furlongs; hated Tapeta last time but won at Bath prior to that and with a liking for the track and surface and with Kirby up in the saddle I think this 3 year old may still have some scope others don't.

LE REVEUR gets the assistance of Hollie Doyle, placed last time here off a mark of 74, runs off what looks like a very appealing mark of 67 tonight drawn in Stall 5 and hopefully first time Blinkers can have a positive impact.
