Kempton AW Wednesday 7th June

By UK Flat / AW (Northern)

KEMPTON 8.25 - Handicap - Class 3 - 1 mile 4 furlongs - 14 run - Standard to Slow

A few in here may improve for the run after breaks so I will be keeping a close eye on Enthrallment off for 244 days; Second Slip off for 643 days and morning light off for 312 days, all of whom have some decent past form. I'll add to a new summer AW TRacker that we'll start up, just in case we have continued long dry spells that impact on the turf.

At the top end of the market the obvious pair are the royal horse Educator, who makes an AW debut and whose best form so far is at 10 furlongs and a horse with a 10 fulong pedigree, and, Stay Well who has a Course and Distance win back in October 2021 off a mark of 87 and who doesn't seem particularly well handicapped right now off a mark of 95.

I'll take these on with SAVVY KNIGHT who has some solid course form and for whom a small step up to 12 furlongs looks a big positive and who ticks all the right boxes, and NEANDRA who has had a couple of wins on the surface at Lingfield, on a nice mark and will come on for a recent return run for Andrew Balding and Oisin Murphy. With a maximum field of 14 and enhanced places the other one who caught my eye at bigger prices for a smaller stake would be CELTIC ART who has AW wins also at Lingfield at this distance off marks of 86 and 88, runs off 86 here and drawn a bit in the Car Park but the able assistance of Hector Crouch ensures it may well be dropped in and swung out wide to make a challenge in the straight.

TIPS (1) Savvy Knight / (2) Neandra if you want to play enhanced places (3) 9 Celtic Art @ 25/1.

KEMPTON 9.00 - Handicap - Class 5  - 2 miles - 12 run - Standard to Slow

A few here step up in trip and again a few off a break.

Sharp Distinction may need the run and it's possibly telling they take the cheek-pieces off, one for the Tracker, Kalamity Kitty arrives with form figures of 1-1-1-1 off a break of 386 days and an increased mark so probably best watched and tracked also. Wholeofthemoon steps up in trip and will be a danger if staying and the same applies to market leaders Spit Spot who is upped from 14 furlongs and Havaila who makes AW debut, upped in trip from 16 furlongs, both of those will be significant dangers, but I have more confidence at better odds in a couple of others.

MOTAZZEN was placed over Course and Distance off this mark in November and has no excuses here with Oisin Murphy booked and looks a solid e/w punt, EAGLE COURT has won at 12 furlongs and 14 furlongs and ran strongly through the line at both trips a number of times, it's up to 2 miles off a nice mark of 74 and is the one upped in trip who looks the most likely to see it out to me. Again if you wanted one at a bigger price for smaller stakes to any enhanced places then BEGGARMAN really caught my eye as the handicapper is finally relenting after Course and Distance wins off marks of 60and 62 pushed the mark well north of 70, back now to 67, definitely one to TRACK but capable of a much better run off this declining mark.

TIPS (1) Motazzen / (2) Eagle Court - if you wish the option (3) 9 Beggarman @ 14/1
