Kelso 2.05

 

I'm not going in too deeply here as I think the Going will be very sticky and a nice rhythm will be key.

 

At the head of the market Famous Bridge for Nicky Richards is progressive and very unexposed but I am not yet sure about its credentials at this level, even if it is a poor Class 2 race. Wilde About Oscar for the Skelton has been poor for a while, they've tried a wind operation and now go for cheek-pieces and it's one you'd like to see some kind of glimmer of form from before getting involved at shortish Odds. Kaizer for Ewan Williams has a Course win at 3 miles and 2 furlongs on better ground, is up 11lbs and another who has scope but I'm not totally convinced about in this Grade as yet.

 

One Night In Milan has returned to Hurdles has 3 mile winning Course form here back in 2019 and runs off a very similar mark to that win. N'Gola is a rare NH runner for Ann Duffield and an ex Willi Mullins horse who has shown very little for a long time. Elvis Mail for the Alexanders has had 3 Handicap Hurdle runs mostly in small fields; it has most form at shorter and is quite difficult therefore to assess. Democratic Oath has won a Novice race at 2 miles 1 furlong on heavy Going and is upped in trip, the fact it finished slightly lame last time has to be noted too. 

 

Flash The Steel looks a second string for Nick Skelton and was unsighted on return from a 445 day break last time so again one probably best watched.

 

That leaves me with AURORA THUNDER who runs for Lucinda Russell, its won at this kind of trip and placed at 3 miles and I think that stamina could be useful here on the ground, its won a Class 3 off 117, placed here off 120 and runs off 120 and by a process of elimination looks the most solid each way punt at a price in the race to me.

 

I wouldn't discount a small shrapnel bet though on GET OUT OF THE GATE if you want that option, it's more of a summer type but gets further and would not be without a chance if the ground rides better than expected.
