Hamilton 7.40

The Scottish Stewards Cup over 6 furlongs has a field of 14 runners (declared) and is the most competitive and best quality race of the day. The Going is "Good" but plenty of light rain forecast from early afternoon so it could be "Good to Soft" by race time and that may not be best for GEORGE BOWEN who won this last year and arrives in decent form, off a nice mark and if it is still Good Going would warrant a 1/2 point each way saver in my opinion.

Golden Apollo has been very well backed overnight and would be a highly topical winner with a lot of focus on the 50th anniversary of the Moon Landings but I don't think there is any value at that price and can leave alone other than Tricast Perm with George Bowen and my selection. My selection will enjoy any rain, is well handicapped and may just be ready now to strike following a winter move to Ruth Carr. AEOLUS has plenty of good 6 furlong form in this Class on Good to Soft with Ed Walker, at 8 may just simply be regressing but every horse finds a level and a mark of 89 is very compelling, if it could repeat placed run on G/S on last run for Walker last October off a mark of 97, would have to go very close. The Tracker threw up LOMU and anything Keith Dalgleish runs here is worth a second look but not as confident about anything as I am about the selection off this mark.
