Hamilton 2.45

NORTH - Hamilton 2.45 - Class 2 - Handicap - 1 mile / 1/2 furlong - Good to Firm - rain forecast
The top of the market here is hard to fathom out. Ghaly, a once very nice prospect returns off a 662 day break for Saeed Bin Suroor, no doubt the horse will be fit enough and if the ability remains it will be tough to beat. Thy could have gone to any number of easier tracks to race though than this if there is any race fitness doubts and there is no market value at all. Sip And Smile is an unexposed 3 year old, could be anything really and one I'd be happy to take on with something a lot more experienced.
Empirestateofmind and Fame And Acclaim have solid chances but any rain may just expose slight stamina concerns up the steep climb. Redarna ticks all the right boxes, trip, going and ability but just looks a shade high handicap mark wise. I'll play it in a Tricast with my 2 selections for a small unit perm.
The pair I think stand out are HORTZADOR and COCKALORUM. Granted both have been tipped by me and not delivered recently but in the case of Hortzador its been in far deeper big field handicaps in better races than this and this would be its best chance since a win at Ripon in April off just 2lbs lower. Cockalorum is also slowly slipping to a nice mark, I've got no Going concerns whatever happens but with proven winning form at up to 10 furlongs it has that extra bit of stamina that could be a massive asset here.
