3.15 MALLARD Handicap - Class 2 - 1 mile 6 and 1/2 furlongs - 13 run - Good to Firm (possible some rain in afternoon)

The amount of rain that falls and when may have an impact here, at the moment it'll come probably too late to influence this race very much but may be a factor for tomorrow.

A competitive field and a few will need something substantial to soften Ground up and in this category I'd put Future Investment and Prince Alex, if SOFT did appear in the Going description I'd have a few bob on Future Investment as a late "hedge bet".

Hoo Ya Mal may be the one they all have to beat and Speedo Boy is on a very nice handicap mark and probably one of those who wouldn't want too much rain but I was continually drawn to a pair at nice each way Odds against the field.

RHYTHMIC INTENT for Stuart Williams and ridden by Hollie Doyle has an excellent chance on the form book, doesn't necessarily need rain but any that falls boosts its chances. Good or Good to Soft is ideal. On an excellent mark and a good Course run last backend off a mark of 94 signals just how well placed it may be here today.

SOVEREIGN DUKE is back on the Flat and with Henry Candy and after 2 prep runs should be just about ready for this. It's one to note in the next 6-8 weeks and if they have aborted any thoughts of a Hurdling career can become a very serious mid grade longer distance Handicapper.

TIP - Rhythmic Intent / Tracker - Sovereign Duke

3.45 Handicap - Class 2 - 6 and 1/2 furlongs - 13 run - Good to Firm (rain expected)

Another tight and tough one to fathom although the likely favourites Asjad and CHAIRMANOFTHEBOARD could take a lot of beating here.

I prefer Mick Channons Chairmanoftheboard of the pair as Good to Soft ground could be ideal and it has the stamp of a well handicapped horse now running into some form.

Able Kane is in top form and will take some stopping but the one who does fly off the page (again as it tends to) is KIMIFIVE.

KIMIFIVE really should win more than it has; Good Going  would be ideal and likely rain will have taken any sting out by this stage, off an excellent mark now 3lbs below last winning level and the booking of William Buick by new Trainer (3rd run for Yard) David Bridgewater signals serious intent.

TIP - Chairmanoftheboard / Tracker - Kimifive.
