Doncaster 6.10

I think that pace will be as much a factor here as the draw although middle to high does seem favoured in these conditions on the straight Course.

Starshiba drawn 7 and Lord Rapscallion drawn 2 are speedy types who like to get on with it and whether they stick to their part of the track or try to gravitate towards the Stand side will be a big factor. I'm minded to look mostly at middle to high.

The main dangers I perceive to my selections are Marshall Dan who is solid and consistent in Class 2 races and drops a little in Class here and likely to run its race as always and Ascot Adventure drawn in Stall 11 who had possible excuses last time out and should be bang in contention. The one they all have to beat is Fresh Hope who dominates the market and probably princess Rajj is the one with the most scope.

Purely on the form book the pair i liked most are YASSER and PERSUASION and I also think that canny Scot Jim Goldie is a dab hand at this type of event and will certainly want his beloved Scotland to be winning. Likewise David Barron is a proud Yorkshireman and will want to be winning on home turf in "Gods own County".

YASSER is running with a 5lbs penalty but progressing at a race of knots and travels very sweetly, we don't really know where the ceiling is but I don't think its found it yet and it should get a nice tow from Stall 10. PERSUASION is versatile at 6 and 7 furlongs and I'll be surprised and disappointed if it doesn't make a bold bid between the 2 furlong pole and the furlong pole up the Stands rail, it could get a march on a few if doing that and hold on for the win. Ascot Adventure is the one I most fear in this context in that part of the draw.

Lets dip our toe in with these tonight.
