Doncaster 2.00

NORTHERN - Doncaster 2.00 Amateur Jockey Handicap - Class 6 - 2 miles 1/2 furlong - 15 run - Going Good
At the top end of the market Marbuzet tries 2 miles again and wasn't compelling last time despite good form at 12-14 furlongs and at the price I'm happy to take it on. I'm not convinced about Foursome, Pound Off You or Aigear either at this trip and at what don't look exactly competitive each way prices, so I'm happy to see perceived value elsewhere.
Toutatis would be a big danger if able to repeat its most recent run but that was a bit of an outlier and I'm not totally convinced about the competitiveness of that race and Chief Craftsman is worth a try up at 2 miles and shown signs it could get it but as a 9 year old it's strange that they haven't tried it more often.
There is some deadwood down at the bottom of the market but I will have a shrapnel e/w bet on both ARIS DE CRAT who may still have some scope and upside as a lightly raced 5 year old to improve and it went well at 15 furlongs last time and WITH A START who has won nice Hurdle races over this trip in Ireland and one particularly eye catching turf run at 2 miles when over there. Both should outrun odds of around 50/1 at the time of writing.
I'm most keen on SIR JOSEPH SWAN for Archie Watson and partner Brodie Hampson a winner twice at 14 furlongs and placed at 2 miles and easy to back at the moment and NEVER NO TROUBLE who Donald McCain may have dropped in off a very lenient Flat mark here.
Tips (1) Sir Joseph Swan / (2) Never No Trouble - (3) Aris De Crat / (4) With A Start - if you want a small shrapnel e/w bet
