Chester 3.45

By UK Flat / AW (Northern)

NORTHERN - Chester 3.45 Handicap - Class 2 - 7 + 1/2 furlongs - Going Good - 11 run

No concerns about the Going or the weather here and a race that looks competitive despite a couple at the head of the market looking very strong.

Lets cover off BOARDMAN drawn 2 for David Allen and Tim Easterby who has won twice this season already off marks of 90 and 92 and who won this race last year off a mark of 90 and who runs off 95 today and FOOLS RUSH IN who likes to race prominently, has also got CD form and who will come on for recent seasonal debut by having a reverse Forecast. It's hard not to visualise them fighting out the finish but equally drawn in stall 2 and stall 5 they may cut each other's throats and get the fractions wrong.

Azano for David O'Meara caught the eye in a handicap and it does have bits of promising form in higher Grades. Its got no Course form though, comes off a 5 month break so probably best watched.

TOMFRE has been battling the handicapper since a stunning run at the end of 2020. Its slowly edged down to a sensible mark it can win off and signs of it's turn being near were clearly evident last time out. Its wins were off marks of 93-97 and 010, it runs off 97 here and drawn in stall 7, could get a nice tow in to the race and I'll be disappointed if we're not in the place money.

At the early odds you've got to have a dabble on GABRIEL THE WIRE, excellent CD record and not surprising given the Owner / Trainer and the horse ran well enough on seasonal debut at the May meeting to suggest ability remains and with Course wins off marks of 83 and 88, and wins from wide draws, a berth in Stall 9 and a mark of 82 doesn't suggest it'll have any excuses of outrunning Odds with some luck in running.
