Chester 2.45
By UK Flat / AW (Northern)
NORTH - Chester 2.45 - Handicap - Class 4 - 1 mile 2 furlongs - 10 run - Good to Firm (Stalls - Outside)
I am most inclined towards 5 of the 10 runner field in terms of known form at the trip and in the conditions. The Stall placement may allow some interesting tactics from those drawn high who may just deliberately miss the kick and tack over to the rail from the outset just behind the pace rather than be held way wide for too long and lose vital ground.
Box To Box drawn in Stall 2 and with a 100% record here on Going better than Good is the obvious favourite and danger and Bizarre Law drawn 7 for the Balding team who excel here notably gets a Visor for the first time and another big danger.Cockalorum always needed to find a mark it could win off and has done the last twice but a 3 timer will be tough for a prominent runner from Stall 10.
The pair I like are JEAN BAPTISTE who won the corresponding race last year from a berth in Stall 6 off a mark of 80, it gets Stall 6 again off a mark of 79 with a good 3 pound Claimer, so what's not to like!. At bigger Odds SUCELLUS is worth a try again at this trip, it has a win at 10 furlongs in the distant past and overall form suggests it could go very close with some luck in running.
