Catterick 3.20

NORTHERN - Catterick 3.20 Handicap Class 6 - 7 furlongs - 12 run - Soft

At the top end of the market the likes of Liberty Breeze, Mutanaaseq and Obee Joe are genuine contenders but I don't feel those are particularly suited by these conditions and at their prices are opposable.

I narrowed the 12 runners down to 4 who I think are better with cut underfoot and both Magical Effect a Course and Distance winner drawn 12 and Langholm another Course and Distance specialist who is out of form on Good to Firm but is also suited by this surface were only discarded in favour of the two selections after a lot of deliberation.

I hope I have made the right choices of the four shortlisted but am most keen on END ZONE who also is in the Tracker with a special note for softer conditions. The drop back in trip should suit, its best on Soft or Good to Soft so rain or shine today won't impact negatively and off a mark of 66 with a 3lbs Claimer looks to have a good sporting chance drawn in Stall 9. The Kevin Ryan 3 year old STAR SOUND may have a bit more scope than many of these unexposed types, the mark is static and she's plateaued a bit BUT best runs have been with some cut in the ground and I'll be disappointed if she can't be running and winning off a mark a fair bit higher than this.

Tips (1) End Zone / (2) Star Sound
