NORTHERN - Carlisle 3.40 Handicap Chase - Class 3 - 3 miles 2 furlongs - 12 run - Soft
A few in here will definitely need the run today and amongst them I would include Haute Estime and Yes Indeed, a pair of somewhat inexperienced if promising 6 year olds up in against some experienced Chasers here. Glittering Love at a bigger price would be interesting if race fit but may also need this. Wasdell Dundalk is in form but this extended trip up the hill raises serious stamina concerns, Phantom Getaway is a P2P and Hurdle winner for Kim Bailey and David Bass is likely to run it prominently, its won fresh and makes Chase debut and very much one to watch TRACK and fear today. Street Value is an Irish raider who'll likely be backed heavily but the trip concerns me and Michael has corroborated those concerns to me with an Irish viewpoint.
I'm VERY keen on HOUSTON TEXAS a Course and Distance winner including this last year for Nicky Richards and 3 out of 3 here, LASKALIN for Venetia Williams who seems best fresh and with the Yard starting to click can't be ignored and I can't resist some shrapnel on FLOWER OF SCOTLAND for the locals a thorough stayer 3rd beaten just 2 lengths on reappearance last year and the type to follow the top rated pair home and a possible nice T/Cast perm!??
