NORTHERN - Catterick 2.20 Handicap Hurdle - Class 5 - 2 miles 3 and 1/2 furlongs - 12 run - Soft
A race for female jockeys and there is absolutely no lack of talent on show.
Lifetime Legend won this race when ridden by Bryony Frost last season off a mark of 102 but has been out of form since but may be a danger off a mark as low as 89, with a 7lbs Claimer, IF reviving. Out Of Focus for the Williams Team, trained by dad Evan and ridden by daughter Isabel, is the one to beat but I've a niggle about the trip and Going so not great market value for me. Molto Bene won at PLumpton yesterday and clearly in form but it's a nightmare trip even if contemplating the run here the day after.
The likes of Belle Na Bann (trip and handicap mark) and Could Be Trouble (Going) and Misty Mani (Going) may not be ideally suited to the conditions of the race but not without chances each way.
I'm going to be guided by the TRACKER , it throws up ZWICKY on the form of some encouraging runs before Christmas and who can be forgiven for a poor run at Southwell last time out and GUSTOSO on the form of Trainer Henry Daly , whose horses are running far better than when the horse was disappointing last time, but who on handicap debut may be on what turns out to be a very competitive mark based on some Autumn form.
If there is one at bigger prices who is most likely to outrun its Odds it is FEACH AMACH who has a win in a Maiden and a place in a Handicap, both at SEdgefield over 2 miles 1 furlong and who was staying on well over the far more stamina sapping Course there on both runs, so one i think could take the step up in trip here and actually improve for it.
