Carlisle - Wednesday 26th June

YORKSHIRE Expert CARLISLE 3.30 -: The Carlisle bell at 3.30 (Class 4 over 1 Mile) is always a very competitive race. Big field and some Trainers have multiple entries and one such is Tim Easterby. I actually fancy the one of his that the bookies least fancy in MIKMAK have selected this one before this season and looks to be running right in to form and the right handicap mark range. Takes a bit of a Class drop on overall form here, drops in trip too and should be ideally suited from Stall 16 to drop in off a very fast pace. Will need luck in running up the hill but plenty of space out wide and could finish with a flourish that few can match with proven stamina at 10 furlongs but a mile winner. The stable also run Brother McGonagall but that one may now just be in grip of the handicapper and equally Lamloom is a live danger but the Course form of TADAAWOL who has 3 Course and Distance wins and who arrives in form and up just 2lbs for a recent win is pretty compelling too.

YORKSHIRE Expert CARLISLE 4.00 -: The Cumberland Plate is over 1 mile and 3 furlongs and another historic and competitive Handicap. I narrowed this down to 6 of the 17 runners, I feel APPOINTED may need softer Going otherwise would have been a confident tip, Dance King is on a nice mark and sure to pick up a smaller race at some point (in Tracker); The handicapper seems to have the measure of Benadalid and not sure of the value in Wheres Jeff/Groveman near the head of the market. So I will go for a long shot in MULTELLIE, this one needs a few runs to sharpen up and has had 3, albeit mediocre ones. However, the handicap mark is coming down to a nice level and likely to run best race of season so far and with enhanced Odds at a big price a place would not be a surprise.
