A maximum field of 17 declared and the market has very much followed the perceived draw bias of low numbers here with Le Beau Garcon and Matice heading the market. The bigger the field the more the bias against HIGH numbers can come in to play, but anything finding a decent position and luck in running up the centre can have more than a fair crack and the main issue with being drawn on the rail is, that if you miss the break, you literally have nowhere to go other than to sit and suffer waiting for a gap.
With enhanced places the value may lie with SHOW ME SHOW ME - drawn in Stall 2 but a big price, that's based on 2023 form but the horse usually needs a few runs and finished in a place on its 3rd run last year. The price looks excessive if it can break on terms and it runs off a very competitive mark. VENTURA FLAME is a Course and Distance winner, it's trained by Keith Dalgleish who unashamedly targets this Series for the prize-money and a berth in Stall 10 could be ideal for the slingshot up the middle with luck in running. MAY BLOSSOM is drawn in 8 for another big Yard and ran better last time, she just looks primed at double figure Odds. Those were the 3 that stood out with value and we'd suggest 50% stakes e/w on each. I can't not mention the rag of the market RESILIENCE at around 40/1 and with a high draw, once a much better horse it's one that I just have a hunch about, no more than that but it won 4 times last year including a weak Class 2 race and the mark is falling to a very appealing level. One to TRACK and a small shrapnel for me today.
