Ayr 1.50
By UK Flat / AW (Northern)
NORTHERN - Ayr 1.50 Handicap Hurdle - Class 3 - 2 miles 4 and 1/2 furlongs - 11 run - Soft
A fair few of these make seasonal debut and whilst none have stand out form fresh most should be winning races once tuned up and they include the likes of Milvale, Better Getalong (who is a TRacker horse); Whelans Bridge , Mack The Man and Pavlick. As we have said collectively a few times lately, it's important to understand Trainers won't want to bottom horses out too soon on this sort of dead ground and "Pulled Up" must always be treated with a degree of caution when assessing future form in this sphere.
Dunnet Head is a worthy favourite but is upped in trip and I'd prefer to be on RAFFERTYS RETURN at the top end of the market, it will come on for a recent run, the Yard is excellent at churning out winners and it has won at the trip. Ballycose is one MIchael thinks has a decent chance but I'll by-pass this Irish raider for a shrapnel bet on GRAND VOYAGE. It returns to hurdles off a mark of 117, that's 4lbs above most recent winning hurdle mark and it's best form is definitely on softer ground and a couple of best runs have been over an extended 2 miles 6 furlongs so I can visualise this one staying on best in the closing stages.
Tips (1) Raffertys Return / (2s) Grand Voyage
