This is easily the most competitive race of the day and some nice enhanced place offers.

 

I want to take Serious Ego from my nemesis Yard, on today,  given its overall form and the attritional conditions. Jet Legs has shown some promise but the Yard is unusually quiet in terms of runners let alone winners. So Many Roads could be anything and I think best watched.

 

At bigger Odds Master Of The Moon has shown some glimmers of promise with a prominent running style so the drop back in trip makes sense and it wouldn't be a complete surprise if it outran its odds and down amongst the jetsome also is Shantou Moon who steps up in trip from 2 miles but who does have some 3 mile P2P form in the early days of its racing career. Both of those may be worth a side investment.

 

I really narrowed the 18 down though to a shortlist of 5 and reluctantly left off Halcyon Days (I would have a shrapnel bet if any of the other 4 didn't run as it was a tight call).

 

In order of preference I'll go with DORA DE JANEIRO who is in the Tracker and who ran well to place 3rd over further at Market Rasen last time. That was on better ground but there is some decent place form for this one on soft and Heavy that suggests Going can't be used as an excuse. EX S'ELANCE drops in trip too and again its entirely logical and a positive I think, its won on Heavy ground too around a year ago off a mark of 79 and runs off 78 here and has its best chance in a fair while.

 

WOTSMYNAME showed improved form over a fulong shorter here last time and gets 13 lbs for a 7 length deficit to THE JAD FACTOR on some older collateral form and THE JAD FACTOR who was far too fizzy on seasonal debut 8 weeks ago have been given time to no doubt build up fitness on the gallops and whose 2021 form was very solid off this sort of mark and the only niggle would be if it may just still need this run.
