YARMOUTH 2.30 Handicap - class 6 - 1 mile 6 furlongs - Good to Firm - 14 run
At the top end of the market there are 3-4 strong contenders but both Philios and Smart Charger have question marks on turf and in the case of Smart Charger a niggle about the trip. BEGGARMAN carries a penalty but is proven at the trip and has form in Good and Soft conditions and looks value at the price for a win or each way punt.
At bigger odds bold runs from Harry The Norseman who has winning form off marks up to 51 in Good to Soft and KIndgirl who looks an out and out stayer; would come as no surprise at all and but for both being here on seasonal debut off breaks of 277 and 219 days respectively, they would have been very strongly considered for investment, so both go into the TRACKER. Hidden Pearl has run very well fresh but all of its best is on Good to Firm, IF the weather didn't impact he would have been a tip and if it was Good to Firm, one to consider.
Vision of Hope impressed when runner up here last time and was 3rd top rated but this is a considerable step up in trip so just missed out.
My selections are TIGERTEN who won off a mark of 62 last season, gets a tongue tie and runs off a mark of 52, that reflects a drop off in form but the horse can act on softer ground and we'd anticipate a very big run. SMOKEY MALONE was runner up in the corresponding race last season off a mark of 62 on Good to Firm Going but has place form on Soft ground off a very similar mark. (TA)

WARWICK 3.08 Handicap chase - Class 5 - 3 miles 1 and 1/2 furlongs - 13 run - Good (heavy rain)
Coconut Twist makes Handicap chase debut after some impressive P2P form but looks tight on price especially with the rain about. Getupearly will win Chases but probably needs more time and probably drier conditions and a bit shorter trip wise. File Itico is upped in trip and something to prove in deeper ground that is anticipated. My 3rd rated and very intriguing is HEAD ON who was very progressive before injury and hasn't yet clicked but is 9lbs below last win mark and could be winning again at some point this summer off this sort of mark.
My clear top rated though is STEAL MY SUNSHINE for the Skelton team, a horse who is slowly running back into form after a break and it will be very disappointing if not in the first 3 here at least. KADEX at a bigger price just got the nod over Head On as it' back to the last winning mark and has run well round here over a shorter trip, a horse who just needs to put it all together and one who looks ready to click!
