GOWRAN PARK 8.20 - Handicap 1 mile 1 and 1/2 furlongs - 16 run - Good to Firm
A typically competitive race on this sweeping right handed track with a steady climb out of the final bend.
At the top end of the market we have the very consistent Just Another Eagle, Chimeric, Harseva who left some pretty average Maiden race Form behind with an impressive showing on handicap debut and The World's A Stage whose recent form figures are 2-3-3-3.
The likes of Init Together who has flattered to deceive when not finding much at the business end at various trips, Plunkett Street, who may need this off a 10 month break and The Fog Horn, a Course specialist at 7 furlongs who may have need a recent run and at a very appealing price, cannot be ruled out either.
With 16 runners and 3 reserves, we have plenty of enhanced places and I ended up with a short list of 4. I'll go in to most detail about the 1-2-3 and leave the 4th to your discretion in terms of an investment with the places on offer.
BLACKBERRY JACK has some decent form and really looked to be picking up some momentum last time and it will be disappointing if he's not right back in contention here.
STORMY JENN is over-priced by my calculation as a Course and Distance winner on a competitive mark that is slowly coming back to a level at which the horse can have serious chances here. KING ARTHUR'S SWORD is also back on a winning mark and has had a quiet return but has won on second seasonal appearance before. My 4th rated at a juicy e/w price is 10 Dazzling Spirit @ 16/1 who drops in trip and runs off a nice mark, stall 19 may not be ideal unless they drop him in and take their chances up the home straight.
