Bangor On Dee - 2.22 Handicap Chase - Class 4 - 3 miles - Soft - 16 run
I narrowed a short list of these 16 down to 6 runners on the day allowing for many to need the run or not quite be good enough even if fully tuned up to win this race.
Of those 5, I would mention Antie Bridgie and East Street who might just need the run on past evidence and Hill Of Tara for Venetia Williams who I want to TRACK forwards and always best to wait for that Yard to start to fire, though it may well do so much earlier this season on suitable ground.
The 3 of most interest and in order of preference if you want the third rated to enhanced places are -:
CHANCYCOURT for the Fergal O'Brien yard who has the benefit of having had a couple of Hurdle runs, makes Chase debut hare but this nice ex 3 mile P2P horse wastes little time in transitioning to what is likely to be his best option over Fences.
BROOK BAY is another 3 mile P2P recruit and an impressive winner in that sphere for the O'Neills and having had a run as recently as 3 months ago should bring some decent fitness to the Course today.
EXMOOR FOREST is the most likely of the more exposed and experienced types I feel a Course and Distance winner off a mark of 104, runs off 107 here and brings race fitness, my only niggle would be softer than genuinely soft but worth an each way poke at these prices.

Chepstow 2.35 Handicap Chase - Class 4 - 3 miles 2 furlongs - 17 run - Good to Soft
A fair few in here that I really want to TRACK forwards and they are Sporting Ace Gingerbread and King Turgeon, I would not rule them out totally today but on past evidence I think they will be better for the run. Iberio has moved from Hobbs to Tizzard yards and one to also keep an eye on longer term, and at the top of the market both Magical Escapes for Kim Bailey and Mumfords Magic for the Skeltons will be dangerous opponents but both look a little short in the market to me based on actual form.
Three really stood out for me and with 17 declared and enhanced places worth an each way investment.
It's notable and I think very relevant in the context of today that Tim Vaughan has already got a run in to both BELLS OF PETERBOROUGH and SILVER IN DISGUISE. Both have Course winning form, BELLS OF PETERBOROUGH is a Course winner, steps up in trip but has form at this distance, and SILVER IN DISGUISE is a Course and Distance winner who is on a nice mark and a nice early e/w price.
Of those who lack a run LESSIERES EXPRESS is a Course winner over an extended 3 miles 6 furlongs and actually one I think that may be aimed at the Welsh National off a low weight, it did run well enough fresh first time out last season and if they have aspirations of a tilt at the race would need to win a race like this I think to get the handicap mark in to range. Whatever it does todayI think it's one to note for some nice Staying Chases later on (RJ)

Catterick 3.55 Handicap - Class 6 - 6 furlongs - 12 run - Soft
Not too many really stand out in this wet ground and I do think a high draw can be an advantage.
I fear Crocodile Power but the price is no win nor each way value, Happier is one of a number for Tim Easterby as is Canaria Queen and both have decent claims but with the Draw in mind as well as underfoot conditions, today may be the day for AGNES GREY a 6 furlong winner on soft who is still on a competitive mark and the very bust PORFIN who has had a lot of runs but who was a 6 furlong winner on soft ground in June off a mark of 60 and who gets in off a mark of 48 with favoured Cheekpieces enlisted again (Northern)
