Market Rasen 3.35 - Handicap Hurdle - Class 5 - 2 miles 7 furlongs - 13 run - Good

A couple of solid options at the head of the market here with Queens Venture for the Skeltons and Western Glen who has shown some decent promise. If you want to go 5/2 or shorter about the Skelton horse there is a win saver bet to be had, but a couple at bigger odds really catch my eye as confident more speculative options.

IDEAL DE ROMAY is in the Tracker and this 3 mile P2P winner who has tried various trips may now be ideally suited by both the trip here and also the underfoot conditions. A prominent running style with a pilot who absolutely specialises in running the fractions right from the front and one who could take all the catching.

THE MIDWIFE is another with a 3 mile P2P win and also has Course winning form at 2 and a half miles, the win was off a mark of 88, runs off 86 here and with that proven stamina proof in the locker, I'd be hopeful that this one will also find this an ideal trip (RJ)

Punchestown 4.50 Handicap Hurdle - 2 miles 7 furlongs - Good to Yielding - 17 run

Wild Shot and Cozone caught my eye but both have to conclusive prove their stamina, elsewhere there isn't a great deal of depth in the race so I'm very much drawn to MISTER BEETON a Course and Distance winner off a mark of 110, who has been running well enough to suggest the proven liking for the Course can trigger a big run back here and with a 5lbs Claimer claiming off a revised mark of 119, should not be far away and definitely capable of a place or enhanced place.

SLANE HILL is back over hurdles off a competitive handicap mark and the better underfoot conditions are a big plus and again I'll be very disappointed if we're not placing here at the very least. (Sean)

Newcastle 8.00 Handicap - Class 6 - 1 mile - 11 run - Standard > Slow

A run of the mill Class 6 handicap where Mr Heinz is very much a Course specialist who won on his last visit off a mark of 46, goes to 48 here , in range but loses the Stands rail he used to great effect last time and gets a wider berth in Stall 10.

There are 3 of these in the TRACKER SYSTEM of which I will discard Gregorianna who so far is a better horse on turf.

That leaves me with MASTERPAINTER who has dropped to a very appealing mark here and who has run well over course and distance off appreciably higher marks in the not too distant past and who has had a nice prep run back here on the AW and looks ready to strike and POP FAVOURITE a 5 time Course and Distance winner who just looks and feels "due" as recent efforts have been a shade frustrating but not bad runs.
