YARMOUTH 2.25 - Handicap - Class 6 - 1 mile 6 furlongs - Good to Firm - 9 run

A low grade race and enough question marks about those at the top of the market to have a small speculative punt on RAQISA.

The new Trainer, operating out of the Amy Murphy yard had a winner for us last week, and plenty to like, if you look back far enough, in the chances of this one today. It had run well at Yarmouth before, best runs including staying on at 12 furlongs have been on Good to Firm, and some forays over hurdles at 2 miles for a previous trainer, suggests that a dart at this 14 furlong trip might pay some form of win or place reward. A price between 12-16/1 would represent good each way value. (RJ)

HAYDOCK PARK 3.17 - Handicap - Class 5 - 3 year old only - 5 furlongs - Good to Firm - 12 run

Some unexposed types in here and several who have been running with some promise on the AW.

However, a couple from in form Yards, one unexposed and one very much more exposed caught my eye as decent e/w value in an open race.

COEUR JAUNE for the in form O'Meara team had its best 2 year old run on Good to Firm over 5 furlongs, pedigree very much suggests 6 furlongs may be ideal, and tried over 7 furlongs last time was very prominent until fading in the final furlong. That sort of profile and experience on Good to Firm turf bodes well.

MONOMYTH from the equally in for Olly Sangster yard has a Distance win at Doncaster off a mark of 66, more exposed of the pair but back to a mark of 65, can put that experience and proven turf form to good use here too. (Northern)

LIMERICK 7.38 - Handicap Chase - 2 miles 6 and 1/2 furlongs - 16 run - Good to Firm

PERSON OF INTEREST at around 7/2 really impressed last time and that price is win only value and I will take the chance.

Of the remainder, ISLAND McCOO, a winner on penultimate run off a mark of 89; was running strongly when making a bad error last time and can be very competitive still with a clear round off a mark of 96 with a 3lbs Claimer.

KADY'S DIRHA a TRACKER horse last summer is far happier at this time of the season than when running in softer ground and was also an eyecatcher last time and just gets the nod over Stellar Symphony, a late comer to Chasing but who would be a very strong contender off this mark over hurdles and who jumped competently enough on a recent Chase run. That will make him a solid reserve if we have a non runner to 5 place. (MG)
