Newmarket 1000 Guineas

FEATURE - Newmarket 3.40 1000 Guineas - 16 run - Good

At the top end of the market Dance Sequence and Fallen Angel are both worthy of their market prices of around 4 and 5/1 and a 1-2 from them would be no surprise at all. I would not put anyone off a crafty reverse F/Cast accordingly, but as you know , the aim is trying to find some value for a sensible sort of stake for some fun but also with an eye on a nice profit.

Yiang Yiang has solid 2 year old form and probably a far better chance of winning for AP today than he had yesterday in hindsight. Star Style for the in form Hannon Team will bid to be a winner without a 2 year old run as we saw yesterday and is certainly a very serious contender. Elmalka was an eye catcher finishing well at 7 furlongs in the Fred Darling and also adds to some genuinely serious depth in this race, and I think we have a better batch of fillies than Mares so far on the evidence we've seen. On that note SEA THE FIRE would be an early Oaks ante post bet for me and any signs today of a good run and promise will see my few quid going on later this afternoon.

Pretty Crystal for Richard Fahey and the French raider Ramatuelle are also well worth close consideration.

I was though left with a shortlist of 4 runners for a couple of each way pokes.

CINDERELLAS DREAM has form figures of 1-1-1-1 including a win at Meydan and in what has been a pretty damp and chilly Spring I do wonder if the benefit of some summer sun and a race may be a clincher here. She would be a very solid each way bet in general for me here.

Three at bigger prices caught my eye and in preference order I would say REGAL JUBILEE who looks overpriced for a Gosden horse, won at the trip, has a proper 1 miler to 10 furlong pedigree and a decent Racing Post Rating of 116. TAMAFARIA has run more in France than the UK but UK based David Menusier has a very good strike rate with a medium sized string and it's another that has cast iron form at the trip. She just got the nod over Karl Burke's second string DARNATION @ 33/1 who would probably get a nod if she'd had a run. I certainly think she will be one to follow forwards.

So I'll have a full e/w on CINDERELLAS DREAM and a smaller e/w poke on Regal Jubilee and Tamafaria, in what I think is a very wide open race. If you want a poke on Darnation given the unusually sporting enhancements then feel free! (Speculator)
