Southwell 4.50 - Mares Handicap Hurdle - 2 miles 4 and 1/2 furlongs - 12 run - Good
I narrowed this down to 5 and of them I think that Janworth may be a slightly vulnerable, though understandable favourite with a penalty and I will swerve this one today and Granny Hawkins, currently the 2nd favourite is still a Maiden after 8 runs and although some solid place form, does seem to be weak in a driving finish, so far.
My 3rd rated who just missed out on a tip is Oneforthefairgreen back hurdling after struggling over fences, the booking of Sean Bowen is likely to shorten the price and she does have Course and Distance place form but in the final analysis a couple stood out more for me.
OUR PINK LADY is a Course and Distance winner, trip too far lately, this is absolutely her optimum conditions and i'll be disappointed if she isn't winning this. LADY'S PRESENT was a shade unlucky last time, drops back to a more suitable trip here as well and should be very competitive on past form off a declining mark of 74 with a handy 3lbs claim too. (RT)

Pontefract 6.50 - Handicap - Class 6 - 2 miles 1 furlong - Good to Soft - 11 run
There are around 5 in with a realistic shout here and whilst Queen Of Steel is definitely the one to beat and in great form a 10lbs rise just puts me off tonight and with Different Drum may be still needing this run off a break before a recent return and Forglen my 3rd best rated overall and a decent reserve if we get a non runner, my top 2 rated were actually well clear of the rest.
QUERCUS ROBUR has a Course win, gets considerably further than this 2 miles and with some cut in the ground can put that Course form and proven stamina to good use and I expect a late spurt to the line. CAPTAIN POTTER has a solid overall profile and really has no excuses not to place again at the least of expectations. (North)

Roscommon 7.38 - Connacht National - Handicap Chase - 3 miles 1 furlong - 15 run - Good
A Regional National that possibly lacks a bit of depth overall.
I would not be surprised to see either Mica Malpic or Slane Hill run well here and both have reasonable place claims as does the exposed veteran Arrycan, still capable of running well as an 11 year old in this company. With 15 runners there are enhanced places and my 1--2-3 are INVICTUS MACHIN who was a shade unlucky last time, looks really well handicapped and primed now and a decent 7lbs claimer being enlisted adds to my confidence. HAND OVER FIST finally gets entered at the right trip, too far and too short the last twice, I can't help but think one was a stamina building run and the other to really sharpen the horse up, so absolutely primed in my opinion. My 3rd rated if you want to play the enhanced Odds is DORANS LAW a solid performer, will run its race but any further easing in the ground would be a niggle (Placespotter)

Windsor 8.30 - Handicap - Class 5 - 1 mile 3 and 1/2 furlongs - Good to Soft > Soft
A typical Monday night Windsor handicap but very few of these have proven form with "soft" in the Going description.
Alpine Stroll is statistically an analyst's dream, a tendency to finish stone last on seasonal debut and then win on second run , add in the soft ground and it would be a tip, add in Rossa Ryan and it looks very strong. Very likely to be backed if Ryan starts winning early on the Card so get a price early. Boy George is in form but on a career high mark as a result , so that opens the door for NAASMA who is a Course and Distance winner on Good to Soft so gets ground and weighted to take advantage and place as the least of expectations.
