AYR 4.45 Handicap Class 5 - 7 furlongs - 11 run - Good
We have PHOENIX FIRE who has been in the TRACKER since its seasonal debut in April here and it did nothing to dim expectations with an excellent runner up effort here last time over Course and Distance. It is a nice e/w price given the fact that the likes of Monhammer who won last time but doesn't strike me as a sequence winner type, Bowman who is top weight and has won and placed in its last two Course and Distance wins and Helter Skelter, who drops to Class 5 after runs in better company, are more fancied by the Betting Markets. I'm happy though to stick with our TRACKER horse PHOENIX FIRE.
Another likely danger is Al Muqdad, whilst at bigger prices I would not rule out AW winner Smalleytime who had one eye catching Turf run as a juvenile nor PEMBROKSHIRE @ 10/1 who is my second top rated on a good 3rd place run last time and who could pop up at nice odds. I will stick with PHOENIX FIRE as the sole tip in an 11 runner race and with Pembrokshire as nominated reserve in case of a non runner. (North)

WINDSOR 4.45 Handicap - Class 5 - 1 miles - 14 run - Good to Firm
A typically competitive Monday night Windsor Handicap.
The one to beat is Grey Fox; a Course and Distance winner but with a 5lbs penalty and this is a deep and competitive field. Darvel and Racing Demon both look to be slightly over handicapped at the moment and a few of the others look more likely to strike. The mark for Desfonado also looks to be a bit on the high side and Ring of Light has yet to transfer AW form to turf. Siam Fox is dropped in Class and below its last winning mark so could revive and Marsh Benham is a Course and Distance winner in Heavy ground who has previously won on Good to Firm but is another who just possibly needs a few pounds back from the handicapper.
INTERCESSOR looks the most likely to me at the upper end of the market, unlucky last time, generally in good form off a competitive mark and on Good to Firm here I see a high draw as being a slight positive.
I want to TRACK and will add Valkyrian to the TRACKER after this but would not rule out a very bold run and if it's flagged up in pre-parade chat that it's looking ready, a late couple of bob would not be unwise. I will though play the enhanced places with MY AMBITION who generally needs a run but who has won off marks of 55 and 60 and on second / third seasonal efforts last season, drawn 8 here and running off a mark of 60 and one I think can outrun early odds of around 20/1.
