Gowran Park 3.52 - Handicap - 1 mile 4 furlongs - 16 run - Good (light rain)
The favourite here is the second reserve (Out On Friday) whose form ties in with the second favourite ACTION PLAN who is guaranteed a run and who would be a decent "win saver bet" especially if the reserve does not get in. I think anything around 9/2 or better is price value IF you want that option bet.
I'm looking for some each way value and am very keen on a couple with a third one also at a nice e/w value, worthy of a mention.
Of the remainder, Money Dancer would have a chance if staying the trip but "if" is a big word, Razdan would have a decent chance if starting better, but prone to having to pass all of the field and again that "if" is the key word. I will TRACK forwards a pair, Eyetrap won races in the UK for Jane Chapple-Hyam, seems to have been given a fairly lenient irish handicap mark but will almost certainly need the run here for full race fitness and Nostra Casa at a big price can win races but still a little high in the handicap, but one to keep an eye on for later in the summer.
My clear top 2 rated which come with quiet confidence are PREPARATIONS who is a generally fast starter and prominent front runner, back on the flat last time was a bit fizzy and did a bit too much too soon after Hurdling over the winter. I think they can "set sail" here and just need to get the fractions right to prevail. BURREN SONG may be top weight but gets a nice 7lbs claimer up and with a win mark around 83/84 looks very well handicapped off a mark of 81 wit that 7lbs claim and noted as one just running in to some form last time.
If you want the 3rd e/w option, then I rated BARROGSTOWN GIRL as my 3rd rated, although a way short of the top pair, but clear of the rest and a big run in to at least 4-5th place would not be a surprise especially if she stays at this new trip which is definitely worth exploring (MG)
