CARTMEL
2.55 Handicap Hurdle - Class 2 - 3 miles 1 and 1/2 furlongs - 13 run - Soft
I am adding Mr Yeats to the TRACKER, he usually needs a run or two but starts on a nice mark and I think it may be a bit lower still after this pipe opener. Tommie Beau won a chase here on Saturday and reappears off an unchanged handicap mark and is a danger. Take No Chances from the Skelton yard is the one to beat but upped 8lbs and on soft Going may be vulnerable and Lihyan a progressive type is upped in trip and penalised.
My two against the field who should be suited by conditions more than most and with solid form claims are CURLEY FINGER who had 3 wins last season off marks from 111 to 120 and who is a progressive Distance winner and second string here for Rebecca Menzies and OUR SAM from local Trainer and Course expert Jimmy Moffatt who throws a lot of arrows here but this Course and Distance winner is usually fine when fresh and looks well handicapped with Danny McMenamin taking the ride. 5.45 Handicap Hurdle - Class 5 - 2 miles 6 furlongs - 14 run - Soft
The one to beat here is Hobbs Delight and I would not put you off a win saver nor may be an e/w double with Take No Chances the market leader in the 2.55 race.
This race does appear to lack depth in terms of form in the probable conditions though and really CITY DERBY a distance winner who has just had a wind operation and running well below its last winning mark and SANOSUKE who has won at up to 3 miles off a mark of 93 and who has worked its way back down to a mark of 96, and gets cheek-pieces back (winner in them) look very interesting each way punts at nice odds (DT)

YARMOUTH 4.50 Handicap Class 5 - 7 furlongs - 14 run - Soft
Bell Shot looks solid if you ignore that last run at Leicester and is the most likely winner. Mystery Monarch is slowly running in to form off a 3 year break and Resonance has a squeak on one Maiden run on Good to Soft going. There may be win or small each way value in any of them but no real confidence in which one.
Motagally is on a very nice mark now but usually needs a run or two but I've added to TRACKER once fit and on Good or firmer ground.
The one that really catches my eye and ignore the price as it really does tick Distance / Course / Going and handicap mark tests is PRIMROSE MAID, Christine Dunnett has trained a lot of big priced horses to win or place here at her local Track and whilst speculative , I genuinely think it has a cracking chance of a place here. LEICESTER - 5.55 - Handicap - Class 6 - 1 mile 2 furlongs - 13 run - Soft
There are 3 main contenders here and the soft ground just saw Haaf A Diamond drop to 3rd rated.
I'm most keen on PORTORO who is a Distance winner in soft conditions and who after 3 runs should really be primed now in terms of race fitness and MOON OVER THE SEA who gets the nod for 2nd best rated on some decent overall form at this level but crucially its ability in soft ground. (NORTH)
