Sedgefield 4.15 - Handicap Hurdle - 2 miles 4 furlongs - Class 4 - 13 run - Good

A competitive little race and one in which four of the 13 runners made my shortlist.

Of those I have discounted Kajaki a Course and Distance winner, now 11 years old and not in great form but off a really eye catching handicap mark and one who could revive and more reluctantly Jaramillo who is fit from the Flat, a Course and Distance form and one who was my close 3rd rated and just missed the nominations.

My preferred pair are BOOMSLANG from the Menzies Yard who won a 2 miles and 6 furlong Maiden off a mark of 106, failed to see out 3 miles last time and who may be quite cleverly have been dropped back in trip here to take advantage of the proven stamina whilst still learning the game. MOONLIGHT GLORY is a bigger priced one but a Course winner and a Course and Distanced placed horse who has had a recent run and back to a mark of 109. (Robin)

Sedgefield 4.50 - Handicap Chase - Class 5 - 3 miles 2 and 1/2 furlongs - 11 run - Good

A fair few in with chances in this tight and competitive field, I don't think Debacle warrants such a short price on actual form, Getaway Glory has been freshened up but the handicapper may now be in charge and of the top three then clearly CHEMICAL WARFARE is the one they all have to beat, and IF you want a win saver, I wouldn't put you off.

Eightytwo Team is the likely pace angle here and will probably take them right round twice and to the bottom of the hill and last two fences before fading up the hill, Roxboro Road and Muroor are both big prices and could revive but i think there is real each way value here with CASH AGAIN a solid 12 year old chaser who usually gets round in place contention and may just get the win that's deserved and overdue here and NO PROMISES who has plenty of nice 3 mile P2P for for the Trainer, ran well at Stratford last time and Ben Poste is again a very interesting jockey booking (Northern)

Listowel 5.25 - Handicap - 1 mile 6 and 1/2 furlongs - 15 run - Good (showers)

Lots in with chances here not in the least a pair of VERY strong looking reserves in Granns Boy and Londonofficecalling.

Bold Approach and Desert Friend hold decent claims too, at single figure odds; and both Cafe Con Leche (3rd rated) and Rumi (best fresh) were considered long and hard at big Odds, it's that sort of race.

My top two rated though who I'm happy to go to war with here are RAIN who is eased in grade and who really should be very competitive in this company on known form and PLAINS INDIAN who has had a quiet prep run for this and looks primed to deliver as a result off an already nice handicap mark boosted by a competent 10lbs Claimer.
