ROBIN - Worcester 2.35 Handicap Hurdle - Class 5 - 15 run - Going Good
I'll wager the going will definitely be on the soft side of Good here. They will have been dumping large amounts of water onto the track at night out of the River during the week in the heatwave and it did rain most of yesterday in the area, not heavy but more a steady drizzle. That will aid a few but hinder some too.
At the head of the market we have 2 x Mulholland runners, a Yard I always associate with Good ground horses for some reason and whilst No Worries won't appreciate the rain, Masterdream won't mind it. They aren't particularly good value in my eyes so I'll have a few quid reverse forecast to cover off the possible 1-2 outcome.
Millbank Flyer will be a bigger danger I think but so far its run over 2 miles and 3 miles and it could be argued this intermediate trip is ideal and logical, but it could also suggest that they don't quite know where they are at. We'll find out today but I'm not particularly tempted.
GETAWAY CORY owes us a win, it' is definitely one who will welcome some rain and off a reduced mark of 82 with some cut in the ground against some who won't be as comfortable as it's last chance saloon and we'd be bitterly disappointed if not placing at least.
Do Ya Feel Lucky for the Pipes and Tom Scu catches the eye after a wind op, I definitely think this is on to "TRACK" onwards as it has form over further including a Course win and the drop in trip suggests they want to really give the horse a good blow to see (a) of the op has worked and (b) to give it the confidence it can run pain free. It could nick a place if they went an end to end gallop but one definitely to keep a close eye on.
Barely Famous at very big odds is mildly interesting, it won a Maiden for Henderson and got clobbered with an unrealistic mark, as that mark drops below 100 IF performances improve it'll be worth "TRACKING" as its clearly got some ability. Rebel Royal just missed out on some investment and would be my reserve, it fell on season debut when in contention but bits of form suggest this is a decent mark for Ben Case and Stan Sheppherd.
I just in the final analysis though prefer BLACK LIGHTNING. It has twice won off higher marks of 82 and 83 and rain is definitely a plus with the Trainer commenting it wont let itself down if the Going is too firm. Off 78 and with the rain and watering it could easily outrun Odds and expectations and one I'd not be surprised to pop up.
