It may seem folly to take on an improving Paul Nicholls horse here but I was at Newton Abbot when Montys Medic won last time and it was a workmanlike rather than spectacular win and I think there is at least one in here to beat it and I'll take on Translink too who may find this race a bit deeper than recent ones.

 

I like the running style of SHINOBI and think it could stretch them and get all the others out of their comfort zone for Kim Bailey and David Bass, and in Bass they have a very under-rated exponent of the ability to lead from the front and get the fractions exactly right.

 

At bigger Odds I will have a small bet on SEARCHING who has run well right handed, winning at Market Rasen over furlong shorter off a mark of 114, some signs last time of a return to form and if you look at that Market Rasen win, the horse runs off effectively 15lbs lower today, is race fit and has to have an excellent chance of placing at a nice price.
