A moderate but competitive field of 14 go in this Class 5 Handicap Chase on Going certain to be on the soft side.

 

Of those near the top end of the market, Chatelier has had 2 solid runs, capable of winning a race of this type but probably better on firmer Going than it will encounter here which at the likely price just puts me off. City Never Sleeps is another who should be more than capable of picking up a  race of this type but probably better suited to easier flat tracks than this, has race fitness though. Go Hard Or Go Home has a win at Hereford but that looks like a bit of a fluke in context of overall form. Tis Fantastic is a worthy favourite, certainly the one they all have to beat but at such short Odds one I feel I want to take on.

 

JOLY MAKER is no great price but offers win or each way value against the field. Jonjo is winning his share, Jonjo junior is showing that he has certainly picked up all of his fathers tactical genes in the saddle, the horse has form off marks up to the mid 90's and looks a solid e/w punt here.

 

Of the remainder, the best each way value may be GLORIOUS BORU, comes quite a way North for Zoe Davison; but that's because 2 possibly best runs have been here at Uttoxeter on this type of ground and the horse also won a 3 mile P2P on soft/yelding, so some assured stamina. Both of those course hurdle runs were in races won by Course specialist Sirobbie, so you can probably mark them up as very solid bits of form. I think a sporting tracker as it could run a place with those credentials laid out for you.
