Likely to be on the soft side of Good here with some rain in the past 24 hours. Lots of inexperienced Jockeys and possibly a gulf in ability too to consider.
Cawthorne Cracker and Sassified head the market CC is probably the one to beat after a nice win here last time, a 5lbs penalty and softer going may just find it out and I'd have Going niggles too about Sassified. Pittsburgh has a race fitness advantage over some and may figure, whilst a few like Watchoutitscookie, Wolfspear and Stanley Pincombe are all dangers on pure form analysis but all may well come on considerably for the run today. Moonlight Artist makes handicap debut for Tizzard and is another to keep a close eye on after today.
With 18 runners and enhanced places I was left with a confident pair at the top end of the market and an equally confident feel about a couple at the other big priced end of the market.
WEAVERS ANSWER for Tim Vaughan and ridden by his son won nicely enough last time, the step up in trip should suit and the Riders Claim negates the penalty and I think this horse has scope to improve. LADY GWEN ran very well last time too to place after a wind operation and with just a modicum of further improvement would go very close here for Kim Bailey although I have to confess I know nothing about the jockey.
At bigger Odds I am really taken with the chances of COLLEGE OAK, this one has wins off marks of 113 and 116, has regressed but still only an 8 year old and with a couple of runs under its belt that race fitness would I hope see it challenging in the first 5-6 home here. Also at a big price and provided the Going doesn't get too soft another with a better chance than the market suggests is SUFI it's won 2 of its last 8 and on the win to race sequence is due a win again and seems overlooked in the market and worth a small investment.
Tips (1) Weavers Answer / (2) Lady Gwen / (3) College Oak / (4) Sufi
